It is the main base of Air Berlin and Germania and its main operators are Air Berlin and Lufthansa.
Consisting of four terminals, the airport is small compared to other major airports.
The airport is scheduled to close in 2012, six months after the completion of the new Berlin Brandenburg International Airport
