» Lester Pearson International Airport Description
Toronto Pearson International Airport is located 27 km north-west of downtown Toronto and within the Greater Toronto Area, which includes the regions of Durham, York, Halton, Peel and Toronto. The airport - covering 1,792 hectares - has been Toronto's main international airport since 1939 when it was first known as Malton Airport.
Terminal 1.
Terminal 1 is designed to handle domestic, international and transborder flights in one facility. The original design called for separate concourses to handle the different types of traffic.

Terminal 2 opened in 1972. It has a handling capacity of approximately 12 million passengers per year. The terminal is serving US departures and arrivals only.
