Located 12 kilometers from downtown Vancouver (in Richmond, British Colombia), Vancouver International Airport was Canada’s second busiest airport in 2008, handling 337,795 aircraft movements and 17.8 million passengers.
Comprising four terminals, the airport offers daily non-stop flights to Asia, Europe, Oceania, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and other Canadian airports. It has been awarded several international “best airport” prizes, including Skytrax’s “Best North American Airport” award in 2007. The airport is also considered the “Best Canadian Airport”.
It is a hub for Air Canada and Air Transat and is one of eight Canadian airports with U.S. border pre-clearance facilities.
